In a modern economy, it is rare for governments to leave underlying economic mechanisms to their own devices. For a wide variety of reasons, governments intervene in economic activity in ways which affect business activities both explicitly and implicitly. This degree enables students to understand the reasons behind particular economic policies, to consider their impact on business, and to understand the issues and ideas involved in decision-making within the modern firm.
